More on Susan Jackson's All-Around National Title

Not only did Susan Jackson become LSU's first all-around national champion with her 39.625 today, she also broke the LSU record for total all-around titles in a single season. Jackson was tied with Sandra Smith with 10 titles, but Jackson's all-around championship gave her 11 in 2010. Smith won 10 titles in 13 meets as a freshman in 1980, and Jackson won her 11th in 14 meets this year.

Here are the top five all-around finishers from the 2010 NCAA Championships:
1. Susan Jackson, LSU, 39.625
2. Casey Jo Magee, Arkansas, 39.550
3. Carly Janiga, Stanford, 39.525
4. Geralen Stack-Eaton, Alabama, 39.500
5. Brandi Personett, Penn State, 39.475

Jackson, who won the 2008 vault national title and finished second on vault last year, will contend for the vault, bars and beam national titles Saturday in the individual event finals. In Thursday's meet, Jackson captured four individual titles (vault, bars, beam and all-around). She increased her career total to 73 titles. Here is a breakdown of her career titles: 19 vault, 16 all-around, 14 bars, 12 floor, 12 beam. Jackson has won 44 titles in 2010 alone - 12 vault, 11 all-around, 9 bars, 7 floor and 5 beam.

Jackson is now tied with former Tiger great Ashleigh Clare-Kearney for most national titles in a career. Jackson won the 2008 vault title as well as the 2010 all-around title. Clare-Kearney won the 2009 vault and floor titles. Jackson can become the all-time LSU leader on Saturday.

Log on to the Geaux Zone on LSUsports.net at 5 p.m. Central Time on Saturday to hear live audio of Jackson, Summer Hubbard and Ashley Lee as they compete for individual national titles.
